David Markham
For 39 years I worked in the corporate structure, 17 of those as a CEO. My career was blessed with numerous accomplishments, but none gave me the thrill and excitement that comes with sending my dog from the line at a hunt test. Since my retirement last July, my time has been filled getting reacquainted with my wife, Danelle, three children, four grandchildren, community volunteer work, and training my two Labrador retrievers. Nearly 11 years ago a friend persuaded me to enter my one-year-old lab into an AKC Junior double-header hunt test. Remi and I miserably failed both tests, but we had found a new passion and now have nearly more than 50 master passes and are in the Master Amateur Retriever Club Hall of Fame. My passion for training and running my dogs at hunt tests remains, but I also have a passion to see growth in numbers of amateur handlers, MARC membership, and increasing participation at the Master Amateur Invitational. I would be honored to serve MARC as your Western Region Director. ~ Dave Markham |
