Vice President
NOMINEE INFORMATION

Brook Douglas

I have been involved in AKC Hunt Tests for 13 years and am a charter member of the Master Amateur Retriever Club, and have been a working member of four clubs in region 4: Greater Pacific Northwest Retriever Trial Club, Umpqua Valley Retriever Club, Sierra Nevada Retriever Club, and this year the Marin Retriever Club.  I have served in the roles of President, Treasurer, Hunt Test Secretary, stake chair and ensure organizational efficiency, timeliness, accountability, and safety but most importantly enjoyment and success of the handlers and their dogs. Working through the AKC Judging process I began judging in 2024.

My wife Carolyn and I have been married 18 years, and we live on a 30-acre farm in Woodburn, Oregon. We are the owners and operators of a successful forklift company, and I enjoy many recreational activities including hunting, fishing, and running my dogs in hunt tests.

I have worked at both the Master Amateur Invitational and Master National events with my wife, and we enjoy traveling and supporting events across the country. I have trained my own dogs except for their breakout, just can’t find the time to do it right. My dogs have won 3 plates at the Master Amateur Invitational and 6 plates at Master Nationals. Our oldest lab Jet (12) is retiring this year with 52 master passes. Dizzy (6) and Milli (4) both have won plates and are qualified for both the MAI and MN in 2025.

Lastly, but most importantly, I appreciate this community of dedicated and supportive individuals who make this sport what it is. Also hope to see you at the Master Amateur Invitational in Waterville, Maine in June.
