I was born & raised in & around Winter Park Florida. I attended Florida Southern College where I met & eventually married Gloria (smartest thing I have ever done) and earned a BS in biology. We moved to Augusta Georgia at the Medical College of Georgia where I graduated with Masters & PhD in Anatomy. We then moved to New Orleans & I did research, published & taught freshman med students Gross Anatomy at LSU School of Medicine. After 5 years of this I entered the medical class & earned my MD. We (Gloria & our three children) then moved to Little Rock Arkansas & I entered the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Orthopedic program. After completing my internship, residency & fellowship we all moved to Thomasville Georgia where I began a practice in General Orthopedic Surgery. I practiced a total of 30 years & recently retired. Two years after moving to Thomasville (1991), I was introduced to Hunt Tests & have been involved in it ever since. After our last child went to college, Gloria got her first dog & together we have attended many Hunt Tests & 13 Nationals. Together we have earned 15 pewter plates. In 2003 I co-chaired the Master National event held in Thomasville. I personally have trained & earned master titles on 6 dogs, run them at many Master Nationals & earned Master National Hunter titles on 2 of them. I have also qualified a dog in the first 2 MARC events.
I am an 8 point Master judge & have enjoyed judging at numerous tests around the country. I am an enthusiastic hunter, which I feel is very important in setting up a challenging Hunt Test at an event.
I recently retired from my medical practice & feel it is time to give more back to the sport I love. I am humbled to have been nominated for the office of president of MARC, especially when considering the excellent group of individuals also nominated. I served as president of the Tallahassee Hunting Retriever club in early 2000 & in 2006 I helped form Wiregrass Hunting Retriever Club of Georgia. I have been the president of Wiregrass since it's inception & served as Hunt Test chairman for all but one of the Hunt Tests.
Thank you.
